Utmaning till mig själv

Nu när jag har städat min pysselhörna och sorterat allt inser jag att jag har en del saker som jag normalt inte skulle välja att använda. Förut har det "legat i vägen" men nu har jag lagt allt i en egen liten kartong:

Now, when my workspace is tidy and everything is sorted, I realize that I have som stuff I wouldn't normally choose to use. It used to "be in the way", but now I have put it all in a little box:

Visst är den söt! Jag kan avslöja att det har varit väldigt god choklad i den, men det var för lääänge sen...

Isn't it cute! I can reveale that it used to contain very tasty chocolate, but that was a loooong time ago....

Jag har kommit fram till att sakerna i lådan ger mig en utmärkt möjlighet att göra annorlunda alster mot vad jag brukar. Det är en verklig utmaning att stoppa ner handen i lådan och sen helt enkelt göra nåt med det som kommer upp! Man ska ju tänka "outside the box", haha...

I have come to the conclusion that the things in this box gives me an excellent opportunity to create other designs from what I usually do. It is a real challenge to put your hand in the box and then simply do something with the things you find in your hand! You really have to think "outside the box", haha....

Igår var första gången jag provade min nya idé, och upp kom en klocka med en cupcake i mitten. Och minsann, jag blev ganska nöjd med resultatet:

Yesterday was the first time I tried my new idea, and I found a clock with a cupcake in the middle. I'm really happy with the result:

 

Jag kom på att jag kunde göra kortet som en enda stor bokstav,  "b" som i "birthday". Bakgrundsfärgen på kortet är dock lite missvisande på fotografiet, det ska inte vara så rött och grällt. Men jag tror ändå ni förstår idén!

I realized I could make the card as one single giant letter, "b" as in "birthday". The background colour of the card is unfortunately a bit misleading in this photography, it shouldn't be so red and glaring. But I think you still get the idea!

Jag hittade ett tillhörande muffins-recept i lådan, som jag tyckte passade bra att sätta på insidan av kortet.

I found an associated cupcake-recipe I thought would fit well on the inside of the card.  

Jag blev så glad när jag hittade det fina monogrammet, jag tyckte det blev "pricken över i" tillsammans med alla glada bokstavsstickers.

I was so happy when I found this nice-looking monogram, it was the "icing on the cake" together with all the bright letterstickers.

Baksidan fick jag fundera ganska länge över innan jag kom på hur jag skulle göra, jag ville gärna följa den runda formen på framsidans klocka. Det fick bli ett tårtpapper som jag färgade med stämpeldynan "Canary" från VersaColor. Den har jag förresten också använt runt alla kanter på kortet. Men det var först när jag hittade några muffins att sätta på tårtpappret som jag kände att kortet var färdigt.

The back of the card gave me some trouble at first, since I wanted to recreate the round shape of the clock from the front panel. It ended up with a doily, coloured with the inkpad "Canary" from VersaColor. By the way, I used "canary" around all the edges as well. But I didn't get that "finished-feeling" until I found some cupcakes to adhere in the middle of the doily.

Vem ska nu då få kortet? Jo, jag är med i en SWAP-grupp och vad passar väl bättre än att skicka det till ett av födelsedagsbarnen nu i juli... Hoppas hon gillar att            (b)aka    :)

So... who will get this card, then? Well, I participate in a SWAP and what could be better then to send it to one of the birthday-girls for this month, july... I hope she likes to (b)ake    :)
